For this week’s discussion topic, I choose to discuss ‘Starry Night’ by Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh was a Dutch painter who was greatly influenced by Georges Seurat and then experimented with his color combinations and pointillist techniques. He was often overcome with intense and uncontrollable emotions that played a key role in the development of his unique artistic style (Sayre, 2013). ‘Starry Night’ is one of his most famous paintings. Apart from being a source of influence on my profession, which is not in any way considerable, I have a very personal connection with this painting.
